In the multi-category schedule, the default has fields like "material area" and "material volume". Is there a way I can tweak it so that it gives me the total of linear ft of each material?

Do you mean like material on furniture? --- Obviously NOT - Then what do you mean?

I mean the structural material, like beam length, wall length, etc.

Those lengths are all available in schedules and take-offs.
