I am struggling with these color schemes. I would like to have the Area of the rooms show up in the legend of the attached image. This is a simple little code plan that shows the mix used occupancy of a building. It would be nice if the tone also went into the stair area in the lower left corner. I have read and re-read the darn help file in Revit, but alas I am not getting it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

j

Simply edit your area sketch to include the stair.

Revit only knows what you tell it.   For areas, it uses the area boundry lines - not the model.   If there are area lines outside your stair then you also have area lines between your stair and the red area.  Remove those.

Thats what I kept thinking too. The answer is really kinda strange (at least this fixed the problem).

That area where the tone or shade did not appear had a concrete floor with a solid fill surface pattern. When I change it to be a concrete surface pattern, the area fill worked fine.

Now if I can just figure out these darn legends. I am trying to make a couple of Life Safety plans that show areas, and I am trying to get the Area to show in the legend along with the name.

thanks for you help

j
