Relatively newbie questions here: I am working with curtain walls as window systems for the first time and I am moderately comfortable with how its going. There are some questions I have however, that i have been unable to find answers for. 1. I have a window system that has "dummy" vertical mullions, mullions that are there yet are invisible from the exterior where you only see a 1/4" butt glaze between panels. Is this possible to create? Would anyone even spend the time to make this? 2. This project is of an existing shell with interior improvements that we will be basically gutting. We are going to make revisions to both the interior and the shell. Is it worth doing in Revit? Or does most everyone do it as we do around here: build a nice model for about 50%, yet still do about 50% of the project in 2D? 3. Can portions of your curtain wall system be in an existing phase, portions in a demo phase, and portions in an improvement phase? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer!

You will find that anyone that's been on Revit for a year or more would say do it in REVIT! Do we do interior items like chairs in 3D? Not unless we have to. You have to look at what you are trying to do. Most of us will do all 3D for all building components but add 2D detailing where appropriate. Take advantage of the #D to locate components and study interfaces. The mullions are easy - it's just a profile and where that sits in relation to the glass - just like the real thing! Basically - just set up your glass location so that it's in front of the muillion instead of the center. For multiple phases in curtain walls, you probably will have to nest curtain walls. Not easy to do. You might be able to do this using design options.

Thanks for the reply. re: The mullions are easy - it's just a profile and where that sits in relation to the glass - just like the real thing! Basically - just set up your glass location so that it's in front of the muillion instead of the center. Two questions: - When you say "it's just a profile"...what exactly do you mean? Would you open a profile family, create it, and then load that into your curtain wall family?
- The horizontal mullions aren't behind the glazing, only the vertical mullions. Would this still work?
