When I try to mirror in 2010, I no longer find the option to pick a point and extend a line to mirror about.  I can only select the center line of an existing object.  I use that a lot and hope I have just failed to find how to activate that option.  Someone please show me that they didn't throw away this valuable tool.  I hope we aren't doing the three steps forward + two steps back dance here!!!!!

you can still mirror by axis, the function is located on the drop down menu of the mirror command. This is a tool I personally have added to my quack access toolbar as I use it quite often.
