I downloaded the ceiling mounted projector from this site. That works fine.

BUT...we want to put model lines that would show up on the floor plans.

When we do that first... it causes the projector to show up on the floor plan, I saw that issued in another thread. It was suggested making a subcatagory in visibility/graphics overrides, that would be a work around if there is no better way, (even if you set that subcatagory to be off in the family you still have to turn it off in the project)...BUT...

The next problem. If I change the height of the ceiling not only does the projector move, as it should. The model lines on the Ref. Level move as well.  :-/

I have tried putting in a ref plane and locking it to the Ref Level elevation target in an elevation view, and locking the model lines to that to no avail.

I tried naming the ref plane, locking it to the ref level and changing the model lines to that work plane. Nada.

Does anyone have a clue as to what I am doing wrong or how I can solve either of these problems?

Diane

Don't use model lines, use symbollic lines.  If you want to, in the family, create a new sub-category for these lines.

If this is a 3D object, you can set the model elements not to be visible in plan... just the symbollic lines.
