I created a new roof and it shows up in the 3d model, but there was no Roof Plan veiw created like it normally does. So the only place I can modify the roof is in the 3d model. Is there some way to get that view created when Revit doesn't do it for you automatically?

Go to an elevation view and create a new "Level" at the height of your roof, then in your project browser you can select that level and work in the roof in plan view....
