Well I don't know what to call it. But is there a way to have them oriented the same? 5" is for slab. 8" is from cut profile to top of slab. John

The dimensions are correct from drafting standards. Under settings - dimensions - read convention - "up and the left". Your 8" dimension is at 90 degrees (vertical ) therefore it reads from the right. Your 5" dimension is past 90 degrees - anything beyond 90 will have the dimension above the line .... that places it where you see it. You can always set up another text style that uses another read convention.

I created another dimension style and changed read convention from up then left to left then up like you said. Thank you, John
