You may be wondering why the chain of imports/exports... well there is a method to my maddness. I am working on a project for school using Revit Architecture 2009. We have a new Z Corp printer that allows us to print 3d models with materials applied to them, very neat. To print the models a variety of file types can be used, the most accepted being a .wrl. So, viz is being used to apply materials and it allows for an export to a .wrl. AutoCAD is being used to hollow out the model and fill in any voids that would cause problems when printing. So, my problem is with viz. Viz recoginizes both layer names and they type of solid. For instance revit has a parciluar wall type "Basic Wall : Generic - 8" Masonry". In CAD everything appears just as solids with layer names, there is no reference to the wall type. I need to find a way to "get rid" of the wall types in CAD because they are interfering with my materials when imported in VIZ. The problem is that I want a certian material applied to a layer that conflicts with the wall type, so what happes is a wall that has a brick material then you zoom in and it changes to a metal panel, for instance. Is there a way to eliminate this wall type property and work solely with solids and layers? I hope this all makes sense. Mitch P.S. Programs being used are Revit Architecture 2009, Auto CAD 2008, VIZ 2008, and ZPrint 7.6

Forgot to mention that I tried exploding the solids in CAD and extruding them, hoping they would loose whatever wall type property they have, but this doesn't seem to work.
