is there any way to automatically set the location for the dimension text so that it doesnt overlap and cant be read. In Autocad it give you an option if the text doesnt fit between the extension lines where to place it with or without a leader. If I change the size of the text then the half blind tradies on site complain. At the moment I am using 2.5mm Arial. I know i can drag each dimension out individually but over a whole job becomes a pain. Attached is a portion of the house where the window dimensions are overlapping.

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Shawn

In your dimension type settings you can set the text position for that particular type of dimension.  You have controls over its offset from the line etc.  Ultimately though, you are still going to have move the occassional bit of dimension text around to a more appropriate position.  Unfortunately Revit doesn't yet have the option for the text alternate position should it not fit ala AutoCAD.  Yes its annoying.
