I am trying to plot my floor plans in PDF so that when I throw them in Photoshop, they are transparent. So that only the lines of my plan are visible. At the moment, when I go to plot, there is a white background around the lines. What I am trying to do is put layers of color in Photoshop under the floor plan. Is this even possible? In the past I've had drawings that were transparent... I dont know if it depends on the view? Or if there is a printing setting? I did a search and nothing popped up.

Open the PDF in photoshop, select colour range and select all the white, then delete it...   You should be then just left with the linework...
