i have created a custom profile that i would like to use as a mullion in a curtain wall system.  for sake of discussion, let's just say it's an ellipse shape that is laid flat with the glass in the middle.  i have successfully created the profile and assigned it to the curtain wall system and it looks great, but the horizontal mullions are cut off square at the point they intersect the vertical mullions of the same shape.  i need to have the horizontals extend, or miter, into the verticals so it looks more seamless.

 can anyone suggest something that might work?  i looked at revit's round mullions and they do the same thing which is kinda disappointing and is not leading me to believe that it is possible...i also hope that someone does not reply with "it works in 2009, but not 2008" because for some reason our company won't install the 2009 software that we have already purchased and have sitting on a shelf in I.T.

Hi, I was wondering if you ever figured out the answer to your question. I am having the same issue and can't seem to find any help on the forum, or any online tutorials. 

Your problem is closest to what I am going through and I was just wondering if you ever figured it out.......

create a new family using the Metric Profile-Mullion family template. its pretty straight forward and simple to do.
