Hi everyone, I have tried to find a solution to my problem online and can't seem to figure it out. I am in Revit 2009 and I selected Interoir: Sun and Artificial, and all lights are set to 1 and are turned on. It seems the sun is working but the lights(recessed cans) are not working. They are attached to a ceiling, I am not sure how else to get them to turn on. I even tried cutting circular holes in the cieling where the lights are, and it didn't work! Help.

Are you sure there is room for the recessed cans? Some posters have found that the cans are in the floor above and don't work. Also, in 2009, sunlight really overpowers interior lighting. If you search the forums you will find other posts on this and the work around. Try turning off the sun and see what happens.

I've read all the threads and tried downloading the patch per typhoon's post last year (but it wanted me to unload my current version 9 and i don't have the time), but nothing works. I render a scene and the cans look great. I render the same view, the cans are black holes. And now I can't get the cans to light. I am happy with the level of lighting, but is the self-illuminating material the answer for the black cans?

I've had the same problem. The recessed can look fine when rendered under Artificial Only. But they go black after rendering with Daylighting and Artificial light. The strange thing is that they're still working... I guess the work-around is the glowing material, but it does make me wonder if something is not set up right.

Try to increase the Wattage of those lights, multiply the watt by 100 and check

I found that happened for light fittings I had copied from another room for example, but not when I inserted them as components - then they emit light as expected.. I have no idea why this shoud affect things though
