Hi Revit Forum,

First time thread starter here. I was just hoping that someone could tell me if it's possible to change the revision date on a sheet and not have it change in all revisions? Eg. I’ve done a set of drawings which is revision A. Then I have remembered I forgot to incude a sheet, so I do it and then I want to issue it the next day but the keep it as the same revision just have a different date. So I want to Issue A set of revision A drawings but have 5 sheets as issued on the 16/04/09 and 1 sheet on the 17/04/09.

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks Revit Forum.

Change your revisioning to per sheet instead of per project...

It doesn't work. It changed all the dates on all sheets. Even after ticking the "per sheet" box.

You need to create a new revision in the revision schedule.  You'll end up with two in the list in the Revision Settings, but because its by sheet, it will show as Revision A as long as only 1 cloud is drawn on that sheet and associated to the appropriate revision.

Yeah we tried that but the thing is that we are just beginning the project so it is the first issue so there is no changes as of yet. We're just adding a new sheet to the set of documents that we would like to be in the project. But we're wanting it to added with a different date in the same revision as the others.

So we have 5 sheets as REV A, Prelim Issue, 14/04/09, XX

Then we want 1 sheet as REV A, Prelim Issue, 16/04/09, XX

All in the same project in the same set of drawings.

Yes that is definitely possible.  I'll create a quick video of it for you to checkout if you still need me to.  My computer is maxxed out at the moment exporting a walkthrough.

But basically in your Revision settings you would have 2 entries, both with "issued" unchecked.  Have it set "By Sheet"

These should be Sequence 1 and Sequence 2 and your numbering is set to alphabetical.

Sequence 1 is 14/04

Sequence 2 is 16/04

Then when you are placing your clouds on the sheet that you want the 16/04 just ensure after you place the cloud, you select it and change it in the options bar to sequence 2...

HTH.

That would be great for the video to be made.

I can do exactly what your saying and it works. The thing is that I'm not using revision clouds. I'm just adding a whole new sheet to the set. So I can't use revision clouds to bring up the new revision.

What does it matter about the clouds?  Just set the option to not show the clouds if you don't want to see them...  How did you plan on using the automated revisioning tool without using clouds, they don't work unless you place clouds?
