Please help, everytime I render my project all the windows are solid. I have checked the properties and it shows that the material is glass. the windows are tranparent in 'shading and edges' view mode, yet the store front windows I am using show the frames but the glass itself looks to be solid grey.

Check the properties of the glass material. Post the family and we'll check it out.
