I am working on a master plan model that has several new buildings. For the initial phases of the project I would like to have the buildings as simple masses that I can extract floor areas from. This works great for buildings that have the same footprint on all floors but once the building mass begins to alternate per floor this becomes a lot more difficult to figure out how to get the floor areas from. This is how I have been doing it: I create a mass schedule where I include GFA as a field, create a field called levels where I input the number of levels of each individual mass and then I create a field with a calculated value called GFA per floor which is (Gross Floor Area / Levels). And this field allows me to see the area per floor; however, it only works with masses that have the same footprint on all floors. If you see the image attached you will understand the type of mass I would like to create where I can extract floor areas from. I believe for this mass I am showing you it must be drawn as 2 masses, first mass would be the first 2 levels and the second mass would be the upper 5 levels then I can calculate the gfa per level; however, it will show up as 2 different buildings in my schedule. I would like it to show up as 1 building with different floor areas per floor. Your help is greatly appreciated.
