I am having a problem with one of my families that I have created and viewing it in a section.  I have a family that is made up of 7 large water tanks, any time I try to cut a section isolating only a few or one of the tanks all of the tanks still show up in my section.  I have tryed cutting the section from diffrent sides and regardless of the direction of the section they all continue to show up.  Even if the section start after the tank it will still show up.  Anyone have any idea what is going on???  I am trying to stay away from recreating all the tanks as individual families, but if it si my only option so be it...  Thanks

Not all families made in REVIT are cutable.  Those families will only show as complete families when you try to cut through them.  Here is the list from the HELP for REVIT architecture.  I'm sure MEP is different.

Cuttable Families

Casework Yes

Ceilings Not Applicable

Columns Yes

Curtain Wall Panels No

Doors Yes

Floors Not Applicable

Generic Models No

Roofs Not Applicable

Site Yes

Structural Columns Yes

Structural Foundations Yes

Structural Framing Yes

Topography No

Walls Not Applicable

Windows Yes

Not Applicable means the category is a system family that cannot be made from a family template.

Thanks for the response, the tanks fall under the mechanical equipment family type.  I was afrade that I was going to have to re create the tanks as separate families, oh well, have to do what you have to do I guess...
