Just create the door with a flat panel where the mesh is.  Assign a mesh material to the panel.

I am using Revit 2013 and I aissgned a metal material to my panel and added hexagonal cutouts, but they are huge.  I am trying to reduce the size (playing with size and center spacing), but I cannot get it to make them around a 1/4".  Can anyone help with this?

Thanks.  But I am not able to get the openings and the width of the metal between the openings small enough.  I would like the openings to be about 1/4" with 9/32" staggered centers (see attached image).  When I put in these sizes it doesn't work.  The image that you sent still looks too big, although it is difficult to tell without any reference scale.

You'll have to use the WHOLE image and not only one "hole" size, I don't work in Imperial, only metric system so, create the image with 25.5 cm x 16 cm (I think that's the correct size of that image) and test it.

Thanks!  That worked.  Under cutouts in the material editor I used a custom image and then scaled it to the size I need.  I really appreciate the help.

Hi All,

I am using Revit 2016 and I can't find a material in any library that has perforations. Am I missing something? Every other forum suggests just making a mesh myself, but it would be much easier and quicker if I could just select one from the materials library.

Thank you!

I have revit 2018, it has come with very few materials. Like it does not have those material finishes under metal like shown below by Typhoon. If materials i see in manage tab, are all the materials i have.

I have been trying to find material libraries, which I had thought would be very easy but hasn't been. Can anybody can guide me how to fill up my libray?

I am right now looking for some nice perforated metal options.
