Does anyone have one of these? Basically it's a floor register vent (nearly all homes have them) but hosted to a wall. I am trying to create one myself, but I am having problems. I simply made a solid extrusion for the height and width of the vent itself (13.5"x7.5"x1/8" thick) and then chose the face of that as the work plane for my second solid extrusion (to make the slotted grill itself). The problem is that when I bring it into a project, the family behaves differently. Specifically, the first solid extrusion for the vent itself will not stay true to the projected height I established in the family itself (1/8" . Also, depending on what I do to try and fix this problem, sometimes it will show in the project away from the wall. Can someone help me out here?

are you making it face-based? if you arent i would try it, hell you would be able to place the grille on the roof if you really wanted in that case. it also sounds like your geometry is not properly constrained to reference planes.
