Ok, we might have screwed up here and i am looking for a way out of it.

Basically we have a master file with about 10 or so linked buildings.  We have just moved onto the keynoting phase and to our (screw up) irritation, we find out that we cannot keynote in the master file and that we cannot create any keynote legends in the master file.  Currently we have all of our views refrenced from the building files into the master file.  Can anyone think of any work arounds to get keynotes to show up or be workable within the master?

Or do we have to make sheets in each individual file then take the sheets into the master file?

I ran into the same issue, still no work around that I am aware of.

i documented each building in its individual file since there was no way to retain the keynotes through the link. We also used some noteblocks to document some other stuff in a keynote format.

ok, so what do you do when you have 3-4 buildings that reference the same detail on a specific sheet?  especially if the detail is listed on the sheet of the master file or we only want to list it once?

ie what is the best process to keynote/callout details for multiple buildings?

you would have to have a dummy sheet for your detail number in each project, the drafting views can be empty and there doesnt even have to titleblocks or anything. I will make a small example project this weekend and post it monday.

unless somebody has a better idea, then im all ears
