I am trying to use the roof command to put a fairly simple roof on a house.  For some reason the hip and valley lines are not going to the correct spot in some areas.  I have attached an image of what I am talking about.  Can someone tell me a way to get these to go to the correct location (i.e. corners)?

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Are you using overhangs and slope definitions to create this roof?  Make sure they are all the same and that the roof is defined form the same side of the wall (outside?)

sorry Typhoon, but i think your roof is incorrect also. that back gable should not continue and hit the ridge as you show it. it should  stay below the main house ridge from what i can see.

I am using overhangs and slope definitions.  I have deleted it and tried it several times, nut I am still getting this same result.  I can't figure out what is going on.

What version of revit are you using?  I did a roof by footprint and it will NOT look right.

Let's talk about your mechanics.

I think all typhoon did was sketch his perimeter and set his slope designations,  Are you doing that or are you trying to force something?

I have my perimeter walls. I go to the roof by footprint command. I give an overhang dimension of 1'-4". I then click on the "pick walls" command. I then set the "defines slope" command for the lines that define the slope and then change all of the angle to 6:12. I then click the finish roof. The attached image is what it spits out. The valley and hip lines should originate at the corners or intersections.

I am using Revit Structure 2009 if that makes a difference.

Can you put here your model??? so we can take a look, i think you are doing something wrong, I'm working in meters not in feets and fractional inches so i have dificult to understand your units....

yeah, you lie, you also change "Offset from roof base" in some lines like you can see in the images, if you pick in the "Align eaves" you can see what i post, so, it's natural what it's happen....
