When I have to create models from 2D prints or files, how can I add structural steel? There are some basic concrete and wood columns in Revit MEP, but no real steel. Has anyone figured out a way to do this? It's important for coordination and installation drawings to have accurate views of what is going to be there. I'm sure I'm not the first to run into this ... can anyone out there help??

well if you have the option to add in basic structural components i dont see why you wouldnt be able to download a little more complex steel columns and import them into the model.

I'm afraid I wasn't too clear in my first post. The problem is that there is no "Beam Tool" in MEP. So you can place some posts, columns, etc. but can't do beams. I guess I'm looking for an effecient way to create beam-like entities. That will be reconized and react like real beams.

From what i know. i dont think that your going to be able to do that in MEP, seeing how the main focus isnt structural they didnt create it to allow creation of such objects. To get the details you are looking for you either going to have to create them in MEP or have them come from elsewhere and link them in.
