Hi there,

Is it possible to create a type catalog (.txt file) of existing family types. I have created 25 types in a new family and want to create a type catalog, so one can only load the wanted family-types in a project, instead of all the types.

I do not want to start from scratch to make a txt file.

I tried to export via ODBC, but it is disables while in a family. It is possible to export via ODBC in a project (where the family is loaded). When I export tot an Microsoft ACCESS-file I can find the loaded family and the family types, but can't find the parameters belonging to these types.

When I try to export the project (empty project with the self-created family loaded) via ODBC to an comma-seperated text file (.txt) I failes. I get the following error:

"Errors occurred while communicating with the ODBC data source: [42000] [Microsoft][ODBC Text-driver] Can not change the table ConstructionTypes. The database is read-only. (-1809)"    (translated from dutch)

 Thanks in advance,

Lennart

Thanks for your reaction, but it is not exactly what I'm looking for.

I want the already created family-types to show up in the type catalog, so I can select them too.

Also, the created types in the type catalog (in the .txt file) do not show up in the family editor in Revit when I open the family.

I guess it's just not possible?

Thanks in advance,

Lennart
