Hi I have a number of grid lines dimensioned up with a continuous line of dimensions. On some, when I select a grid, the dimension figure turns blue & is editable which moves the grid. On others it doesn't. Do you know what is causing this & can it be rectified? Hope you can help Cheers Dave F.

Dave, are you trying to lock your grids in place? If so, click on the dimension string and lock the dimensions. To prevent any accidental movement select all the grid lines and pin them in place. good luck

thanks for thereply. I realise I wasn't being clear enough. I want to be able to move the grids, by the method I described above, but it only happen on a few of them. Ta Dave F.

Dave - unlock your dimensions, if that doesn't work, look for a pin. BTW - don't pin all your grids. Pin one in each direction - then when you get your grid dimensions right - lock those. Over-use of pins will get you in trouble

I don't have access to the model (it's late in evening where I am), but I don't remember locking the dims. As they're a continuous chain I'm surprised some are editable & some not.

Individual portions of a chain can be locked and I don't believe there is a way to lock the complete chain. BTW - If a previous dimension was placed and locked and then the dimension is deleted, the lock could still be there. Lock then unlock your dimension to eliminate this possibility if you are still having problems.

also make sure your dimensions are to the grid. if for example it's dimensioning the wall or column it won't give you the option to edit the dimension when you select the grid.
