having trouble doing an exterior peice on a house ive designed..how do i seal off the underside of these stairs?

Well, I use for that a "Create-in-place" in the category walls and use the solid extrusion, create two extrusions in that elevation view, the first stop in the first wall and the second goes to the inner wall...

i would avoid using in-place families as they arent the best thing. the easiest way would be to just add a wall in the area you want to seal up and edit the profile so that it matches the stair profile. Plus wouldnt that be the correct way its done when your building it.

do as afc4 suggests. Create a wall beneath the stair. the trick is to create a section that looks a the side of the stair. create a reference plane that matches the angle of the stairs. select the wall. click edit profile on the options bar and align the top of the wall to the reference plane and bottom of the landing. this has been covered before in this forum. it's a good idea to search the forum or help first. you may up getting your answer quicker.

also as a note, you may want to check the stair properties. it looks like you are missing stringer(s).
