I work for a design firm that likes to show the conduit from the Thermostat  to the mechanical equipment such as a VVT or VAV box.  Can that be done in Revit?

Also is there a guide that explains how to make surface hosted blocks?  I made a Thermostat but I dont think it right to begin with and I also want it to show one way in the plan view and another way in section or 3D view.

Just wondering,

KHeinz

Typically wiring is shown as a drafting line. Unless there is a compelling reason to show something 3d make it in 2d. Is the conduit exposed? Will the scene be rendered? Is there another reson that you need to show the conduit?

Use either the face based or wall hosted family templates.

You use symbolic lines to show things in 2d (plan)  - just remember to turn off visibility of the 3d object in plan view !

If you use model lines they will show up in multiple views - unless you alter their visibility.
