“I have problem with clipping on section cut. I cut a section on plan then when looking at the actual section, without clipping the floor elevation text appears as well as other lines beyond where my actual boundary is for that section. If I use the option for clipping then lines beyond disappear, but then so does the Elevation text. I want the Elevation text to appear but not these lines beyond, which shouldn’t be showing p anyway. I don’t want to see anything beyond 2’ where they cut and need to see the floor elevation too. “

Clipping deals with the depth of the view.

Croping deals with the laft/right/top/bottom limits of the view.

In addition to the model crop you have an annotation crop option.

In order for a model element to be visible, it must be within the limits of the crop & clip.  In order for annotations to be visible, they must be inside the annotation clip if activated.

In rder for a level elevation marker to show, the level must exist within the model view area.

even with clipping is on, if I stretch the crop top and bottom to top and bottom of building I will see some of the floor elevation text but not all of the floor.

Now if I check non-clipping all of the floor elevations text and everything beyond show up.

(this is our first trial on revit we are current using revit 2009)
