Just curious about what everyone is using in terms of pc when runing revit 8, been encountering some program crashes and slow in porcessing(stuff like offset, delete...etc takes 3 seconds in edit family in place ), more accuratelly, revit shut down without any warnings, and the file i am working on is not that big (26mb), currently i am using p4 2.67ghz with 768 mb ram and 128mb video card, following are the system req. from the autodesk website... System requirements: Intel® Pentium® 4 1.4 GHz or equivalent AMD® Athlon™ processor 1 GB RAM 1 GB free disk space 1024 x 768 monitor and display adapter capable of 24-bit color Internet connection for license registration Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 System Recommendations : Processor: Intel® Pentium® 4 2.8 GHz or equivalent AMD® Athlon™ processor RAM: 2 GB Two-button mouse with scroll wheel lupinz

I'm using Revit 8.0 in two Pc's. - P4(Dual)3.0, 1Gb Mem, Ati X700 Pro 256 - P4 2.0, 1Gb Mem, Matrox 64 Both work Fine, and have no craches. The P4 2.0 is more slower.

My computer is an Athlon64 4000 with 2 gig of ram and fireGL v3200. More important when it comes to Revit, is the memory, the more you have the better it is... I have not noticed any differences with the video card, I had a 9800XT and I can't tell if the FireGL is better! I don't think Revit is fully taking advantage of GL, they say they do but I just don't see it...

no problems, though a good video card is just as important... oh, and I just noticed you are using IE, I would get rid of it if I were you and use FireFox, much better when it comes to ActiveX and spywares... Smile get it here: http://www.mozilla.org/

Things that might speed up your pc: - use a defragmentation tool (start => all programms => Accessories => System tools - check for spyware on your pc - shut down as much programms as possible (look in the system tray for example) - surely you have running a virus scanner, but how much system resources is it consuming? Virus scanners like Norton Antivirus 2005 (or whatever year) uses a lot of system resources (memory, cpu). So you don't want such programms running (and slowing down programms like revit). Use a program like: Norton Corporate, Avg, Kaspersky Personal. If you don't want to pay, and want it legal then use Avg. It's free, and doesn't use much system resources. Download it here: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1
