Morning chaps! Hope someone out there can shed any light on this as failure to work it out is driving me, and therefore my boss round the bend.

We have created a whole raft of different families in MEP for a client. Valves, Plant, Switches, Lights. You name it, we (might have) made it.

However, we now need to go back and add a new parameter to all these families following a design change.

Is there any way to do this without opening each family in Revit individually and adding the parameter?

I've looked into custom family templates and lookup tables/csv but all those methods seem be the same i.e it involves opening items respective to each family and making the changes.

Well, in Architectural that's what we do, in MEP I don't know...

Well it looks like we'll just be editing a new family template, and copy/pasting the geometry/connections from old families into the new template.

Thanks for your help anyway!

Of course, it's never that simple, so now I have to go searching through the forum again, or create another new thread for the new problem that's created by going through the above method!

Iv got this same problem, really frustrating and copy - pasting is a bit of a pain. I dont mind opening all the files, the part im not looking

forward to is manually adding all the shared parameters. there must be a way to add groups of parameters?
