I built a Go Kart for one of my school projects on Autodesk Inventor 2009. I saved it as a Autodesk Inventor Assembly (*.iam). I need to find out how i can convert it into a file that i can load into  Revit 2009 and then upload onto Revitcity.

i have never used Inventor but I imagine there has got to be a way to export it as a dwg or dxf. thats the only way currently revit could import it. i think Smile

The *.sat file format seems to be pretty heavy. There is a solution to getting your inventor file to be a true Revit family but youll have to wait. Lets continue this discussion in a couple weeks.

I have a feeling that exporting from inventor to a common data exchange format to revit is still going to be heavy, ie just like if you bring in the proxy graphic or cad file into revit. depending on your file size i would say use some caution or go  for it.
