Hi All I have a series of RC columns, 400x400 founded on pile caps up to roof level. Revised design means these column from foundation to 1st floor are to become 500x500, then 400x400 to roof. I have tried to fix the base to First Floor Level in the columns properties, but it wants to take the foundation with it which is attached. I ahve tried detaching but that won't let me pick the pile cap as the object to detach. The warning tell me as I try to change the column base tells me that the pile cap will follow to level 1 but this 'warning can be ignored'. Like hell it can't, it can if I delete the column or ignore it by leaving the column as 400x400 all the way up but thats not what I want. Any ideas guys without having to redraw? Jamie

I as well cannot find a way to detach a column from its footing without redrawing. No one else has suggestions?

Anyone, even if it is to suggest that it is a case of having to redraw?
