after i have purge the un-used family, this error message showed up, "As a result of Reloading Latest Worksets, there are no types of Stacked Wall left. Create a new type by duplicating an existing Stacked Wall type in the Project Browser." and even through i have duplicate the stacked wall type in the project browser, or import a new template back into the my working file, the problem remains, and our design team isn't able to save to central (only one person can work on the file at a time) anyone encounter the same problem? and possible solution to that? i have tried to copy the entire existing file to another revit file...but many more error message came up....mulity story sair, grid, cant make....blah blah blah..you naem it, and i sure got it..maybe i should just keep trying..sigh thank you lupinz

You may have to roll back the central file first to a point before the stacked walls were purged. Then attempt to save to central.

yeah..i think that will work ..but unforturnally i was too far down the project to discover the problem. however, i did found 2 possible solutions from AUGI...here are the quate i took from AUGI 1)"The error in the file was a user created error, but it is a glitch that is being looked at for future updates. Thanks to quick response from the developers, we can get back on this project! What it is: The default Stacked Wall family calls for two wall types already in the projects. However, I did a Purge Unused, and this conveniently deleted one or both of the walls that the Stacked Wall referred to. This also deleted the Stacked Wall family, but Revit was not happy and by saving to central, I would get the message as shown in the image in the intitial post. This was a seemingly unfixable problem, since when I tried to bring in a stacked wall from another project, the message still came up and I could not save to central. How to fix it: Copy and paste in, not only the Stacked Wall family from another project, but also the default walls that the Stacked Wall refers to." -- posted by Jason Brown 2) "RE: Cannot Save to Central - Family "Missing" (Stackwall) Unfortunately, Revit allows deletion of Stack Wall type (which is default for new Stack Walls) without changing to next available Stack Wall type, but catches problem later on. The action which causes such problem (action about which we know) is deletion of basic wall type which is component of stack wall type (while stack wall type is default for new stack wall). As the result, stack wall type got deleted, and default stack type becomes invalid, creating problem which is catched later. Please avoid such deletions." Posted by Lev Lipkin, Autodesk Revit Developer evidently this is not a singular incidence, the only way to avoid it is not to purge or delete the stackwall types, and its sub components. and by the way i am using revit 7, and donot know if this is the same for the revit 8, anyone enconter such problem in 8? and one last thing, thanks for the posting Jason Brown and Lev Lipkin, reply from Mr Spot, and helps from Wes at PAT
