so... I need to remodel a storefront that was created using a curtain wall. All we need to do is demolish an existing door in the curtain wall and replace with glass. I saw the thread http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=12299 but this seems like a workaround (demolish the entire curtain wall and then paste a copy of it in the new construction phase and edit the new wall). Is this really the only way? If we do it this way, I don't think we will be able to correctly schedule the new storefront glass because Revit thinks the entire curtain wall is new. Is there a different way to construct the storefront in Revit (i.e. use a different tool, not curtain wall) so that it is easier to remodel later? If this is seriously the only way... well, I'll be writing in to the wish list!

This does seem to be awkward.

Possibility;

  1. Existing - Place an empty system panel in your store front where the door was.
  2. Demolition - Add a new store front that is only the size of your empty panel - put the existing door in it & delete it.
  3. New - Place another new  store front - same as 2 but put a panel in it.
All should schedule correctly.

Thanks! That was a great workaround.

However, I will still be writing in to the wishlist :-)   I hope the programmers can make it so the curtain wall components can be edited, demolished and inserted independently of the curtain wall itself.
