ok, in our office we still use autocad to draw up details for our jobs. with most guys having better knowlage of AutoCAD then Revit it works quite well. I set up the detail in revit as much as i can and i export the view to DWG. After that someone else finished the detail in CAD and i import the DWG to Revit view, place it in the exact positionsoi can still use the level lins and grid line etc. The only problem is that the line types (ie. insulation, dash) do not show up correctly. I know that i can control the CAD lines by layers in 'object styles', but that doest work too well for me for these reasons: - if i change the line weight of a layer, all line in that layer become solid and halftone (or lighter)??? - if i change the line type of a layer then ALL lines in that layer will obviously turn to that style, which is not something i want. I'm sure there must be a good way of getting this done exacly righ. Can someone please share the wisdom. Thanks Jakub C

ok i posted this on wrong forum before ... anyway to answer my own question ... if anyone else has the same problem. you can control the AutoCAD line weights in FILE > IMPORT EXPORT SETTINGS > IMPORT LINE WEIGHTS DWG/DX and set the line weights as required. But i still would liek someone to tell me how to make insulation/batting line type appear right in revit? thanks
