For the life of me I can't seem to find out how to make the exterior door handle extrusion not to show through panel. The handle is a nested family in the door family. The only way it goes away is if I delete it.

Assuming this is a face based family (handle) is it mounted on the wrong face?

KingRevit, That is a screenshot of it in the project. It shows fine in the family editor.

WWHUB, It's a generic model family. Placed on the correct side. I even moved it 1/8" away from panel and it still shows through to the other side.

If you edit the handle family, is there an invisible line in it?  If so, delete it.

I still think this is a placement issue.  Perhaps the handle family is not locked to the door but is located based on the wall.  You might try t-inserting this and locating it relative to the door plane.

WWHUB,

You're on the right track. I've been messing with this family for so long in the same wall thickness and that the family itself is not constrained correctly. The family is in a 6" wall and the project wall is a 8" wall. Looks like I have to go back to the beginning and reconstruct this door family. Family editor wins today's match.

Thanks,

John
