Hi,

Can i ask how people approach this area.

Please see image attached.

When we have a multistory stairs and a railing that wraps around the spine wall and joins to the stairs on the next level, we noramall add in an extra section of railing the red highlighted railing in the attached image.

Is this how others do it? Is there a better way?

Thanks.

thanks typhoon,

but thats ok they are different/seperate railings/stairs and this is what i also do.

but in a multistory stairs the railings are all considered one, just as the stairs are.

and we all know the problem of creating a chain of lines in a railing that is attached to a stairs - it goes mad.

please see both the images and the rvt file which i have attached.

i would be happy to leave a 1mm or 2mm gap between the 2 sections of railing but the minimum is 6mm before revit automatically joins them.

so i know i can make them as individual and not mulituistory stairs but in a high rise its easier to control change if it is a multistory stairs.

any advice much apreciated even if it is "use single stairs"
