I am trying to join two roofs to create a hip connection near the ridges.  the join command will only intersect the roofs but won't create any geometry where the two roofs dont intersect.

Anyone have a solution or suggestion.

Currently all roofs are drawn by extrusion.

Drawing by footprint has been difficult in that the roofs have varying plate heights.  I'm not sure if this would resolve the issue.

You can't Join those roofs because they don't intersect totally, that's the problem, what you can do it's in Plan view, select that roof and in the "Option Bar" you have the tool "Cut Profile", use it....

You lost me, bro!

I touch any of those roofs I don't get a cut profile option.

I've redrawn things by footprint...

Yes you have, Like you said "Currently all roofs are drawn by extrusion." so...

But the problem you post in the image it's because you don't have the top of the two roofs in the same height, that's why you can't join...
