Can we create a line type in lieu of hatch pattern inside the wall? Say we want a one hour rating with a #4 lineweight in 'dash' linetype or 'double dash' if 2-hr rating.

Don't think so.

Probably the best way to do the fire-rated wall annotation is to create Detail lines and lock them to the CL of the walls.

Thank qthdad.

That is what we actually doing right now. The only thing is we need to copy/ paste it in all other plans (e.g. ceiling, finish, equipment etc)...or there is other way to do that?

YES___you can do so, but only :: View specific.

T O|D O:

In your desired View, select your 'rated' Wall Type> right-click...Select All Instances > right-click again...Override Graphics in View > By Element... > Drop-down 'Cut lines' and establish your desired line Weight, Color, & Pattern.

Anyother way to do so is to create a hatch pattern and to assign a specific hatch for each rated wall condition.

You can do this through the materials libary and have a wood stud material for each of the rated types that you use.
