I just created a keynote legend and the "Keynote Text" box is empty next to all the Keynote Values.  The only way I can change it is to insert a Division the category/family belongs to and then it will list the type, for example if I say the category/family is Division 11, the keynote text section will say Equipment.  I want this to be more specific, for example say Key Note 1 = Coffee Maker, but it will not allow me to override anything.  What am I doing wrong??

Your Keynote text file should be written this way:

1   Wall

2   Floor

3   Door

Place the legend on a sheet.  You will use the same legend on multiple sheets.  Place a keynote tag.

If your project is setup for keynote numbering by keynote, the legend will show the keynotes as numbered in the file. 

If your project is setup for keynote numbering by sheet, the legend will be numbered according tothe order they are used starting with 1.

Revit 09- I am having the same problem.  Where do you set up this keynote numbering by keynote and how do you input the text information as it will not allow me to do so.  Do you go to the element properties and set this up there?
