just started a project in mep and I was wondering can I extract fabrication drawings to send to hvac fabricators. for example the transitions and elbows. is there another method? how does everyone here give the information to the duct fabricators? maybe it can be done with scheduling? filters? please can some one tell me revit has something to do this. thanks in advance

basically I mean can I select an elbow or duct or transition and extract its dimensions for a fabricator?

You are able to add parametric annotation to allow a fabricator to take off from your drawing. This is the current process we are using for fabrication in we produce a fully detailed Revit drawing including all Workshop and installation detail and they then takeoff and input theinformation into their software for manufacture, same process as when we have 2D. The alternative, which I have not yet used, is TSI have a revit-CADDUCT exporter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kobIJ6FMoXU There appears to be a few limitations with this but until Autodesk decide HVAC manufacturing is an important enough group to include I guess we have to work with what is available.
