I have imported a site plan in dwg form wich will form the basis of a housing layout.

I have been trying to use "topofsurface" to create the area which is going to be the site of my intended visual.

However, when I use this function it is NOT creating the shape as I require.

The shape I want is almost a crosss-shape yet the topofsurface function is filling in the gaps between points thus creating more of a squar shape?

Is there a way of specifying the detailed points to create a site plan??

Here's hoping you more experieinced Revit users can help.

I don't understand your problem description - an image would help.

You can create your own topo surface.

Here's an image

I am trying to follow the red line but you will note it creates an image based on the blue line as it skipping some of my intermediate points.

I hope the picture tells a thousand words!

Jonathan

Or putting it another way, I want to create a surface for an ordnance survey plan, similar to the one attached.

What is the best way - it will basically incorporate road, turf, planting and fencing - not too difficult I imagaine!

Regards

Jonathan

Topography and property lines are two different things entirely.

As a very experienced Chartered Surveyor and someone who has built many properties, I think I am fully aware of the distinction between "property and topography" and do not undertsand why you are pointing that out??

I apologise if I am not making much sense but I shall try one more time...

Having now imported an os plan I wish to work it up in 2 parts - one being the property (which I am able to do) and the other being the site (or topography if you prefer to refer to it that way)

From the inported plan I obviously have the reference points for the boundaries but to my knowledge, this does create a site from which we can apply materials such as grass or tarmac.

So, I want to create that site surface from my imported plan from which i an apply materilas and then site my property on top?

Does this make any sense????

REVIT does not expect a topo surface to be limited to a property line.  Build your topo larger than the property, then use split surface to change the surface of your topography within the limits of your property.  You can use pads and sub-regions to furthur define your topo surface.
