Previously, when working on our first project, we employed a window family type to build an angled bay window - in it were modelled the walls/cheeks, roof, base, trim panels & window - (all as extrusions) - all very neatly constrained and parametric. But towards the end of the project we found the family type restrictive; the opening cut was perpindicuar (where we wanted angled) late-in-the-day changes to adjacent wall construction weren't reflected in the walls/cheeks of the family type and the "window" had to be assigned a duplicate type mark, since we employed the same window unit in our elevations (on it's own) as we did in the bays. Today I have played with making a model group to see if we might replace the use of the old family; using walls, a floor object, roof & window - and as a singular instance it works fine; but we will be looking to employ this group 100+ times per project file; and trimming the upper/lower walls & joining geometry that many times seems a bit backward. Despite the numerous threads querying bay windows here, I've not found one suitable to our needs - and so would ask what method you do/would employ (nested, shared, in-place, group, etc?) to have something (schedulable) to match the very simple attached plan. Thanks in advance.
