I faced lttle problem making the vaults when I was working on a project of arabian traditional architecture..

the problem is that there is no category for vaults ...

Solution : a solution I thaught about is to make a door family with desired shape as the one in the attachment(the attachment contains a vaulted door and a window from intient arabian styles hope they b usefull Winking.

is ther any other ways to do the vaults with Rivit .

I was not looking for your topic, but I may be able to contribute. Forgive me if you're not referring to muqarnas vaulting.

A while back in my undergrad education at the University of Washington, Seattle, I took a non-western architecture class by Vikramaditya Prakash PhD that included lectures about middle eastern architecture by Professor Mamoun Sakkal whom has extensive knowledge and research regarding 'muqarnas'. These are the distinctive vaulting elements seen in elaborate transitions from the square rooms (represneting earth) to the round domes (representing heaven). Unfortunately, to make such a transition, the muqarnas are actually a collection of something like 5 to 9 unique elements that tile together in a somewhat geodesic pattern. To replicate this in Revit would be very difficult, but not impossible. Proper placement and getting them to work together would be another significant task. Google Mamoun Sakkal and muqarnas and you'll get a lot of good info.

As for how to do it in Revit... I would recomend a combination of void elements subtracting from the base extrusion to create the tesselated tiles.

Thanks brant buddy !! but I'm not talking about muqarnas I'm talking about simple arched opening in a wall 4 a window or door or .... even if I haven't thought about muqarnas _ I may agree with u about how to form it in revit but what about the category u r going to assign it to ???

again thanks alot ...pal!!
