Hello, I am an electrical designer working for an engineering firm in Pittsburgh. They recently decided that two of us should being a transition to the use of Revit. The also recently decided that we can learn the entire program in a matter of days all by our selves and will not pay a single $ for so much as a tutorial download or class Cryingthey are obviously not drafters)

So basically it reminds me of 9 years ago when I started out in drafting school all over again! Anyway just wanted to introduce msyelf. the forum and site seem very informative.

Hi Dthon, of course you can learn some things by tutorials (but it takes too much time), and you can count on us here to help you in what we can, so welcome to this world.

Hi,

I am from India, I have about 10 years of experience in AutoCAD Drafting. Running CAD Drafting tutorial home.

I just started learning Revit. I have done some building models in Revit.

Is it possible for anyone who will check my sample model in Revit format and let me know if there is anything wrong in my models?

Thanks

Ananta

Hi and welcome ... I don't know if I can say "welcome" cuase I'm new too even if I'm regested monthes ago...

I didn't start comunicating on this website untill I finished my tutorial books (I've already read 3 books about this program and I think there's still more and more to learn from the others here in this collaborating society ...

don't care about your company not paying for your trainig ...the program is so clear and exciting_ I learned it by my self_ and as the guys were saying we're all here willing to help...

U can Skip to here :Have u read the book of SYBEX it's on of the most helpful rescources ... try to get it _even a pdf copy, I have one but I need to chek the copyright policy of the website_ beside the free tutorial of the Autodesk website wich I think u already downloaded them..

thanks typhoon for moking my today...

LOL, you Welcome ADNANITO... by the way about the book of SYBEX (Mastering Revit 2009) you are right, it's a helpful book, very good in did, it's almost 55€ but it's very good, I recomend, also check the HELP menu from Revit and the tutorials in Autodesk: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=11091739

Look ANANTA, I check your model and you use A LOT of OPENINGS when you don't need that, just pick in the wall, EDIT and create inside the Magenta Lines the "OPENING" you want, you don't need to create a family to do that, check that...
