I've got Revit MEP 2009 with Autodesk's tutorials, and a building file from an architect. I see the steps for creating a hvac layout in the tutorial revit files, but there had to have been many settings set and default mechanical items put into the tutorial building models before any hvac work could be done. I have a building model from an architect, and when I try to do in this model what the tutorial showed in the tutorial example model I get warnings and errors like "no default fitting type is set or the default fitting is not found." Teaching ductwork layout before teaching setting up and configuring the building file for mechanical design seems to be putting the cart before the horse. Actually the tutorials don't seem to ever teach setting up the file for mechanical. Where do you go for tutorials on configuring and setting up an architect revit model for mechanical?
