As a primarily Residential designer and ex user of Chief Architect I'd like to recommend a few things that CA had that I think Revit would benefit from.

1. Truly parametric windows & doors. The ability to change each window instance, such as muntins, sash size, trim, sill, stool and so on. I'd love to be able to create a cottage style window that is 6 over 9 without having to go edit the family every time I want to change something small. Same with doors. I'd like to have a half glass door that I could change the muntins to 4 or 6 or 9 or whatever without having to edit the family.

2. Better countertops. I'd like revit to have it's own counter tool, with the ability to recognize casework. The ability to control backsplash (on or off) and overhangs.

3. Better Roof Controls. I'd love to see some sort of toggle for an automatic soffit. Plus having automatic roof returns in gables, with the ability to control wether they are full or partial returns.

4. Framing plans! I know that it shouldn't be that hard for Revit to create 3d framing plans.

That's all I can think of at the moment. I do have to say I have been very happy so far with Revit.

in response to your first wish,

i have added an image of one of my window familys in its most basic different forms,

Note: this is one family Smile all changes are made with instance parameters or with preset types,

is this what you were looking to do?

Kind regards,

D
