Revit Architecture 2009

Greetings,

While searching the forums for keynoting linked files, the consensus is that you cannot do it.  Therefore, what is the best way to note building sections, wall sections, etc. generated in a "combined" file of several linked models?  We are using the combined file to generate our construction documents only, no modeling, so the views and sheets are coordianted and "smart."  However, I cannot figure out how to put notations on the views from the linked files, specifically building and wall sections.

 Any advice is appreciated.

Regards,

Dan

I am also running into a problem very similar.  I am unable to tag elements that are in my linked file.  You would think that you would be able to do this because you can schedule them, and pick on them(even thought they are grayed out).  Any ideas.  Thanks

 JB

You can use keynotes from a keynote file ... just have to fake REVIT out.  If you set your keynote to user and pick any model element in your file, you can place your keynote then simply move it and the leader.  A WORD OF CAUTION If the model element you picked is turned off or deleted - so is your keynote.

As far as tagging goes .. no such luck in 2009 and earlier - don't know about 2010.  However, I think you can tag the original in the linked file and use a linked view ... but I have never done that.  NOT A GOOD SOLUTION!

Another way to do this is copy / monitor... then you have the element in your file as a copy that will tag.
