Hello all,

I'd like to add a grid to our titleblock, to be controlled by a visibility parameter. I had tried out this technique in a generic family and it worked great. Now that I'm trying to do the same in the titleblock family, I can't create the shared parameter I would need (option is grayed out).

How do I get this to work? It seemed so simple before, and now I'm not getting it done.

Are invisible lines another option?

Thanks!!!

You really shouldn't need a shared parameter for this as you use shared parameters mainly for scheduling or parameters that repeat themselves in multiple families like height, length, etc.

A family parameter will work for this w/ o having to add it to the project.

that's true, but I'd like to schedule it. Actually, I don't want to see the grid being printed, and scheduling the visibility would allow me to quickly check whether or not all sheets have the grid turned off. (I use a working schedule with all the information that's available on sheets).

I had tried out invisible lines, but those became invisible (seems logical) so they were of no use to me in lining up my detail views.
