i have been looking thru the forms and have found that keynoting doesn't work for scheduling w/ linked files but question is how to make the keynotes in a linked file visible. we have multiple buildings linked into a 'central' site file where we are producing our sheets and we have key noted in the linked files. in some of our building elevations the keynotes show up but in some views they don't, the keynotes box in the annotations is checked. at this stage we do not need the schedule just the notes.

I believe you will have to have multiple instances linked by view in order to see the keynotes. You can add new key notes. Using user ... initially, they must point to a model element but once placed, you can set them to free end and move them anywhere.
