Has anyone imported and DWG file into Revit and was able to make it a working model? I'm having problems with working with it.  I can view it in plan and 3-D, but can't explode it withought compromision its 3-D componets.

If anyone knows how to do this, could you please lend some assistance?

You've got it right ... 3D cad can be imported but not manipulated.

..... I should say changed.  It can be moved.

So, will I need to remodel the existing building in Revit, sort of like tracing it?  We had a company laser survey an existing building for use to use for a new project and they saved it in AutoCAD, do I need to ask them to save it with a different program or it won't matter, either way?

 Please let me know..

thank you,

it won't matter. you will have to model over it with Revit components
