Hello. I need help badly- Revit PDF writter 4.2 stopped to "print" my files: when I press print button, some processes happens, and then Revit crashs with system, file is still on printing- somewhere between Revit and file. I tried to reinstall Writte, I even reinstalled and upgrade Revit up to 8.0 Nothing changed. Of course, I'll try some other pdf rinters(any advices?), but I'll be glad to recive some advice about how to revive writter. Thanks beforehand. Post edited on 2005-05-23 17:43:41

Revit stopped supporting the Pinebrush PDF writer in version 8.0. I was never that impressed with it anyway. For a cheap (free with popup ads) try pdf995: http://www.pdf995.com/ I think it works just as well if not better than Adobe's Acrobat. Of course you can always buy Acrobat Professional for around $400. The Autodesk DWF format is kind of nice too if you can convince the receiving party of it's value. Revit 8 supports 3D DWF which is neat. HTH Tom

I solve this problem by installing PDFcreator - i've noticed no visual difference between Writter and creator files(exept creator's files smaller size). I'll try pdf995, but afterwards, now it's project deadline... Thanks anyway.

I had problems last Friday with the PDF writer files created by REVIT 8. My text jumbled up when you opend the pdf files. I used the revit standard text and verdana a tt font. I do not have problems printing from my plotter. I have problems with the dwf files and pdf files when needing to send to print in other cities. or any printing company. The pdf files open up to the size of whatever default printer regardless of the sheet set size. and the text is jumbled. And the printing company claims that even if i set the sheet set i.e. 24 x 36 at dwf format, the drawing does not print to scale. What a headache. So, Tom, why do they even have pdf writer if the are not supporting? what do you think? Also, how do you get PDF Creator? How do you export these file to that program? Thanks for the info about pdf 995. Is there any unforseen difference with using pdf 995 that we should consider? ciao Smile Post edited on 2005-05-24 15:14:21 Post edited on 2005-05-24 15:15:29
